The Lollapalooza Festival has announced its main and second stage acts for its 1993 tour, which will kick off June 18 in Vancouver, B.C. The festival, which combines alternative music with offbeat food, arts, crafts and politics, has been among the summer’s hottest tours for the last two years.

Main stage will feature Rage Against the Machine, Babes in Toyland (June 18 -July 14), Tool (July 16-Aug. 10), Front 242, Arrested Development, Fishbone, Dinosaur Jr., Alice in Chains and Primus.

Tour dates will be announced shortly. Tool will appear on the second stage until Babes in Toyland’s dates are over. Babes in Toyland had previous tour commitments.

A Lighter Shade of Brown, Cell, Mercury Rev, Mosquito, Mutabaruka, Sebadoh, Tsunami and Unrest will be among the bands playing at least 10 dates on the second stage during the tour. They will be joined by local acts at each location. Local bands that wish to submit tapes for the second stage should send them to P.O. Box 36674, Los Angeles 90036.
